Gillard: more Muslim schools 'part of modern age'

January 11, 2008
Candidate for dhimmi of the year,
Ms Julia Gillard, news.com.au:

THE rising number of Muslim schools is part of the "modern age" and the focus should be on ensuring all students get a world-class education, Federal Education Minister Julia Gillard says ...

"From the point of view of the Federal Government generally, we say that parents deserve to have choices about where their children go to school.

"That's inherent in the Australian system, and we want to make sure wherever they go that they have a high class, indeed world class, education."

Ms Gillard said the Government had plans to introduce a national curriculum board.

"We've had the Catholic system for a long period of time, we all grew up with Catholic kids who went to Catholic schools," she said.

"In the modern age we have some Muslim schools as well ...
Mizz Gillard, please tell Robert Spencer where he can find a world class peaceful modern Islamic ideology to teach the kiddies, cause he's been searching for years:
... peaceful Muslims have never formulated an Islamic response to the jihadists' claim to represent pure and true Islam -- and as long as they do not and apparently cannot do so, the jihadists will continue to hold the intellectual initiative within Islamic communities worldwide. "Moderate" Muslim spokesmen such as those above have not just not answered me; they've done nothing to seize that intellectual initiative and blunt the force of jihadist recruitment among Muslims ....

... no one, Muslim or non-Muslim, has ever yet refuted the contention that Islam teaches warfare against and the subjugation of unbelievers. And so one thing is certain: that warfare will continue.
Equivalence: comfort for twits.

Please Note: whilst this blog also deals at times with the issue of race, Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch holds the view that the anti-jihad resistance is not about race.

Most of the Western Muslim establishment is comprised of Islamist groups claiming to be moderates. True moderate Muslims reject Islamic supremacy and Sharia; embrace religious equality and democracy.

What is a moderate Muslim? According to a dictionary, a moderate is a person who is opposed to radical or extreme views or measures, especially in politics or religion. Yet, majority of the public seem to be struggling with the definition of a moderate Muslim. Perhaps we can make this task easier by defining a radical Muslim and then defining the moderate as an opposite of the radical.

Muslims Against Sharia compiled a list of issues that differentiate moderate Muslims from Islamic radicals. Hopefully you can help us grow this list.

Good luck with that. Turkey PM Erdogan:

"Those who are unable to distance themselves from terrorism cannot avoid being adversely affected by the struggle against terrorism."

I suggest your teleport your religion as far away from Muhammad as you can go.

You will need to go a long way before the West will trust your reformed religion.

Wafa: "I don't believe Islam can be reformed. I really don't. I believe Islam shall be transformed, and it will take fearless religious leaders and very well educated people to cause the transformation."

A reformed Islam will always be at risk of reverting to its "true" state in the Koran.

Spencer:

"seize that intellectual initiative and blunt the force of jihadist recruitment among Muslims".

I can't see it gaining any support.
